Macon Arrests in 24 Hours
Macon County's local law enforcement keeps things lean online. The Sheriff, Macon Police, La Plata Police, and Bevier Police post no booking list. Neither a 24-hour nor a 48-hour list appears on their pages. That leaves one official starting point: the MSHP Online Arrest Reports search. Run a query by county and date. The Patrol feed shows who its troopers arrested and when. It is not the Macon County Jail roster, though, and cannot tell you who sits in custody locally. It also misses anyone booked by a city officer.
Timing deserves a caveat. The Highway Patrol says reports post on their own. There is no stated refresh schedule. Nor is there a guaranteed cutoff at the 24-hour mark. An arrest date marks the event itself, not the moment the record appeared. A city arrest can also be missing entirely. That happens if the Patrol never worked the case. Treat "last 24 hours" as your search window, not a promise from the county.
The official MSHP search screen displays the county and date fields for a same-day arrest check.
The capture documents the search interface, not a complete Macon County custody list.
Check Macon Arrests Today
Start with the Patrol search. Then confirm details with the agency itself, which keeps an MSHP arrest report distinct from actual jail custody and stops a news item from standing in as a live record.
- Open MSHP Online Arrest Reports and choose Macon under Arrest County.
- Enter the arrest date. Add a first or last name only when needed to narrow the list.
- Review the arrest date, time, county, troop, and report link. Open the detail for the charge, where-held, or release fields when present.
- Confirm that MSHP was the arresting or investigating agency. The search does not cover every municipal or sheriff arrest.
- For current local custody, call the Macon County Sheriff's Office and Jail at 660-385-2062.
- For a copy of the booking or photo record, write to the sheriff at mcso@cvalley.net and ask that the request reach the proper custodian.
Have the name spelling ready. The approximate arrest time, the arresting agency, and a report number also help the office tell similar names apart and send your request to the right custodian.
Macon Same-Day Report Fields
A Patrol report shows the fields the state troopers maintain. Macon County's own booking details sit behind no public jail interface, so the state view is as deep as it goes for Macon arrests.
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Name, age, city/state | Identity details entered in the Patrol report; compare carefully when names match. |
| Arrest date and time | When the arrest occurred, not the page publication time. |
| Arrest county and troop | The reported county and MSHP unit, commonly Troop B for this area. |
| Charge | The alleged offense at arrest. It may later be changed or dismissed. |
| Where held | A facility reported on the detail page; it is not guaranteed live custody data. |
| Release information | A reported release field when supplied, not a court disposition. |
| Booking photograph | No public photo field was verified on the MSHP search interface. |
The Patrol report number still has value. Keep it for any later records request. A county booking number, bond amount, intake time, or booking photo may exist in a separate agency file, but the sheriff publishes none of those online.
Macon Jail Confirmation Route
For local answers, start with the Macon County Sheriff page. The office sits at 101 E. Washington St., Macon, Missouri 63552. Phone 660-385-2062, or email mcso@cvalley.net. The sheriff's site offers no searchable roster, no booking list, and no posted photo policy. A call is the direct route. Ask plainly whether the person is in custody and which office holds the arrest record. Put any written request in specific terms. Name the person, the approximate date and time, and the arresting agency. List each item you want, whether a booking sheet, an arrest report, a release field, or a photograph. Ask about redactions, fees, and format before you commit. If the Missouri State Highway Patrol made the arrest, its public-records office handles the Patrol report. MOVANS works for a named-person custody check. A no-result does not settle the question. See the VINELink Custody Check. The official sheriff and jail page displays the contact route only. There is no linked roster or booking list for Macon County.

That office contact is the practical fallback whenever the state Patrol search cannot answer a local custody question about a Macon arrest. Note: For emergencies, call 911 rather than filing a public-record request.
Macon Arrest Charges Need Court Review
An arrest report captures what an officer wrote down at the start. That is all it is. Prosecutors can decline the case or file different charges. Charges get amended, reduced, or dropped. None of that shows up in the Patrol's same-day feed.
The courthouse is where those questions get answered. Missouri Case.net lets you pull a filed case by name, county, or case number. The filing date and hearing entries confirm you have the right match. The Macon County Circuit Clerk keeps the official court file. Two hearings matter here. An arraignment advises a defendant of the charges, while a disposition is the court's final outcome. Missouri Case.net is the fastest starting point. It works for any Macon County case that has actually been filed.
No Official Macon Arrest App
The Macon County Sheriff lists no booking app and no arrest-photo social feed. That gap leaves room for impostors. Missouri DPS warns that MobilePatrol and Missouri Sheriff Connect have no affiliation with DPS or MOVANS. An app-store listing can still look local. Trust an app only if the sheriff's own website links to it.
MOVANS plays a different role. It sends custody or court notifications when the participating data is available. It is not the last-24-hours arrest list. Its local-jail alert method changed in May 2026. Older phone directions and VINELink App instructions may no longer work.
Why Macon Arrest Results Differ
A single arrest in Macon County can leave behind three separate paper trails. The MSHP report logs the Patrol's arrest. The jail file shows who was booked and held. The court case, filed later, shows what prosecutors actually charged. None of these records has to appear at the same moment. One can exist while the others never do.
That split is real here. Linn County's own page states that it houses inmates at Macon County Jail. Someone sitting in that jail may have been arrested by another agency. The arrest may have happened in another county entirely. So arrest county, arresting agency, and current facility are three different facts. The Macon County Police Blotter helps you compare recent dates, local reporting, and the five-day MSHP window. Set them side by side, and the gaps stand out.
Custody systems add their own gaps. A released person drops off the current roster. The arrest report still exists briefly in public view. A transfer can park a name under a different facility. Prison sentences move the person into MODOC's offender search. County lists no longer apply. Federal detainers and immigration holds run through their own locators. So one missing name proves very little on its own.
Request a Macon Arrest Record
A phone call works for simple routing questions. For anything more, put the request in writing. Start with the Macon County Sheriff's Office when the jail created the booking file. The arrest report may have come from Macon Police, La Plata Police, Bevier Police, or MSHP. Name that agency too. When the sheriff does not hold the document, ask directly which office does.
Be specific in what you request. Give the full name, plus the date and time. Add the location and any report or booking number. List each item you want: the arrest report, booking sheet, custody and release entries, bond field, and booking photograph. Macon County publishes no dedicated jail-record form or fee schedule. Ask for electronic delivery if that suits you. Request an itemized cost estimate before any work starts.
Missouri Revised Statutes ยง610.100 governs open arrest records. It does not force the county to run a same-day website. A booking photo gallery is not required either. Some material sits behind statutory exceptions. Think active investigative details, juvenile records, victim information, medical intake notes, and sealed files. If a portion is withheld, ask for the legal basis. Ask also for every open part that can reasonably be separated and released.
