Macon County MOVANS Coverage
Macon County custody starts with the Missouri Department of Public Safety MOVANS page, which covers offender custody and court notifications across county jails and the Missouri Department of Corrections. Older guides call it VINE or VINELink. Those names still circulate. MOVANS is the state program now. Its current site is the primary route.
Participation by the Macon County Jail is not shown in the public interface either way. A blank result does not mean release. It may just mean a missing feed. Pick Missouri, then the agency listed. If Macon County does not appear, call MOVANS or the Macon County Sheriff. The current MOVANS public site is the official starting point.

It searches a custody feed, never a mugshot gallery.
Check Macon Custody on VINELink
Use enough detail to separate similar names. MOVANS offers an agency and statewide search rather than a browsable Macon arrest feed.
- Open the current MOVANS website and choose Missouri Statewide.
- Select an agency when offered, or search all available Missouri agencies if the custodian is uncertain.
- Enter the offender ID when known. Otherwise, enter first and last name.
- Try supported partial-name behavior and narrow by age or date of birth where the form offers it.
- Compare every returned identifier and custody field before choosing a match.
- Open the record, note the facility and status time, and register only on the matching person.
A no-result can mean several things. The name or ID may differ. The event may not have uploaded, the local feed may be offline, or the custody type may sit outside MOVANS. For the arrest record itself, use the official paths on the Macon County recent arrests hub.
VINELink Macon Result Fields
Fields depend on the participating agency. Treat each label as a custody-system entry, not a full booking or court file.
| Field | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Name | Compare spelling and other identifiers before selecting a match. |
| Offender ID | A stronger search key than a common name when supplied. |
| Custody status | The last status received from the participating agency. |
| Facility or agency | The reported custodian, which may change after transfer. |
| Age or birth detail | A narrowing tool when available, not a standalone identity check. |
| Release or transfer event | A status change that can trigger a registered notice. |
| Court event | A separate state notification type. |
| Booking photograph | MOVANS is not a Macon County photo source. |
A result can lag a fresh booking. It may also show state DOC custody or supervision. Check the facility and agency fields rather than assuming every Missouri result is local.
Register Macon Custody Alerts
Local-jail alerts follow a date-sensitive workflow. A Missouri DPS update dated May 6, 2026 says a system change took effect May 5. Existing local-jail users had to register again, and notices shifted to SMS text or email. Phone and app notices ended for that category.
- Locate and verify the correct person in MOVANS.
- Choose registration for the relevant custody event.
- Select SMS text or email for a local-jail alert.
- Enter and confirm the destination requested by the current form.
- Complete any verification message the system sends.
- Keep the registration current and contact MOVANS if an older enrollment does not appear.
DOC and court-event registrations continue under the state update. Older brochures mention telephone alerts, a four-digit PIN, and the VINELink App. That history does not govern local-jail registration now. The official 2026 change notice carries the updated delivery rule.

The notice is the current source when legacy VINELink instructions conflict.
Verify Macon VINELink Results
MOVANS never replaces the arresting agency, jail, or court, and a fresh booking can lag in the system. It is not a complete arrest feed. A release notice is not a dismissal. A transfer just moves the person to another custodian.
Call the Macon County Sheriff's Office and Jail at 660-385-2062. The official address is 101 E. Washington St., Macon, MO 63552, and written records routing can begin at mcso@cvalley.net. For a brand-new Patrol event, compare the Arrests Last 24 Hours workflow. MSHP is a report source only. It does not prove current custody.
Missouri MOVANS Transition Rules
The May 2026 transition is the big Macon-specific issue. Older results can still say VINE or VINELink. Missouri DPS states plainly that MobilePatrol and Missouri Sheriff Connect are not affiliated with DPS or MOVANS. Treat no app as official unless the Macon sheriff links it directly. The sheriff lists no such app.
MOVANS support answers at 573-526-1929, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Email works too, at movans@dps.mo.gov. Those contacts handle registration and system questions, while jail staff govern local custody procedure and the records custodian. The official state program page covers scope and contacts.

This state information should take priority over undated third-party app instructions.
Macon Custody Status Differences
The words "arrested," "booked," and "under supervision" point to different stages. They are not interchangeable. An MSHP arrest report can show up before a local jail feed catches up. Someone can also be arrested and released quickly. No lasting custody entry follows. A MODOC result may point to state prison, probation, or parole rather than a fresh Macon booking. Federal and immigration custody sit outside MOVANS. Missouri Case.net or the Macon County Circuit Clerk shows the later court path once a public case exists. A booking is only the first record of an arrest.
Notification works best when registration stays tied to the right record. Save the offender ID. Note the agency shown. Check your contact details for typos, and return to MOVANS if a notice seems off. Treat a text or email as a prompt to verify, not as a booking file, a court order, or a guarantee about where the person is held next.
No Macon VINELink Result
Start by loosening the search. Confirm the spelling, try the offender ID, and switch to the statewide option. A similar name is not enough. Next, figure out who actually holds the person. A Macon Police arrest often leads to Macon County Jail. But the person might have been released, transferred, cited, held by another county, or moved into state custody. Linn County also houses inmates at Macon County Jail. So a Macon hold does not prove the arrest happened in Macon. Facility and arrest location are separate things.
Call MOVANS support if registration or agency participation is unclear. For local routing, call the sheriff at 660-385-2062. MSHP reports cover a recent Patrol arrest, though they stay preliminary and public for only five days. A failed search points to the next custodian, not to a conclusion that the person was released.
Macon Court Event Alerts
MOVANS can also send Missouri court-event notices, apart from local jail custody alerts. The May 2026 change affects local-jail users. The state said DOC and court-event registrations continue. Pick the notice type that matches what you actually need to track. A release alert will not report the next hearing.
Missouri Case.net and the Macon County Circuit Clerk remain the official court paths. A docket lists filings, hearings, pleas, and dispositions. MOVANS aids awareness, but it is not formal service and cannot replace instructions from a judge or clerk.
